General
Transverba is an international transport company that is specialised in the transport of goods to and from Italy. The main office of Transverba is in the Waalhaven area, in the middle of the logistic heart of the port of Rotterdam. Transverba is strongly represented in the transport of dry goods, such as cattle feed, potting soil and paper. Transverba is also specialised in the transport of wines and steel (both crude steel as well as final products).
Co-operation
Mariska Vermaas established the transport company in October of 1994 under the name of Eurocat. In 1997, the name was changed to Transverba, a contraction of Transport Vermaas Baldo, which also included the Italian partner Baldo. The transport company now employs 10 staff members at the Dutch office. There are 7 people employed at the North-Italian branch Transverba Srl. The Italian branch sees to the supervision of the intermodal transport (transport by railway).
Anniversary!
Transverba celebrated its tenth anniversary on October 1, 2004. More than enough reason to take a moment to consider the enormous success of this rapidly growing transport company. Unlike other transport companies, Transverba is well on its way up. Transverba is scarcely troubled by the economic recession. In the past years, the company has realised two-digit growth percentages time and time again.
A visionary management policy has given this transport company a firm leg up. Among other things, the success formula of Transverba rests on its competitively priced costs of transport, which are lower than those of other transport companies. How does Transverba do it? By solely focussing on the Italian market in its capacity of transport company, Transverba can substantially limit the number of 'empty kilometres'.
